Webb Memorial Trust
Who are they?
The Webb Memorial Trust is a registered charity established in 1947 as a memorial to the socialist pioneer Beatrice Webb. Historically it has distributed annual grants totalling £70,000 primarily for projects in the UK and Eastern Europe. It is currently undertaking a major project to celebrate the centenary of the Webbs’ Minority report to the Poor law commission in 1909.
What was the job?
- Corporate branding and development of new website
The Root Solution
- The Webb Memorial Trust already had an existing website, but felt it needed a fresh look and feel. We used the original site, it’s content, and input from the client to produce an initial mood board with new branding ideas and examples.
- Created a choice of website templates based on feedback from the mood board. We created 3 style templates, ranging from classic to contemporary.
- From the final agreed templates, we created a light, visually appealing, cross-browser compatible, standards compliant website. We wanted the layout to reflect the concise yet lucid style of the site content, so we neatly positioned the text on the page, with short line widths and generous line spacing for easy reading.
- To accompany the website, we provided a very light-weight, content management system, allowing The Webb Memorial Trust to extend and maintain their website over time.
